The auto installer couldn't do it... I couldn't do it (not even with the -less than detailed- instructions on Haloscan) ...nor my tinkering. But Dave of - Dave's Not Here- did it!!! Dave is a typepad user, not blogger/blogspoter and was able to decode what was needed and necessary and put it in all the right places for me.
I was about to give up all together, thanks Dave!
